When my family and I moved to Castle Rock, CO in 2015, I had never even heard of people
painting rocks. Yet that reality changed in 2017, when our son found 2 painted stones in our town – one said, ‘Trust in the Lord’ and the other one was painted like a strawberry.  In months to follow, I watched him move those stones around his room. old During that time, I told our children that it would be fun to paint stones for people to find which say things like, ‘Jesus loves you’ and ones with Scripture references so they can be reminded where hope, love, faith, etc. truly come from.
 
In 2019, the kids and I started doing just that. It was so fun to create with my kids and see stones we placed out for people gone and do our little part to impact our world for His glory.
 
Fast forward to 2020 – the Lord told me to start a Facebook group called ‘Cornerstones’ to invite others to do the same with the painted Scripture stones. The group grew while we painted over 1,300 ‘cornerstones’ to release wherever we went.
 

Then in the summer of 2021, the Lord called me to lay down my 31-year career in healthcare
which I enjoyed serving Him in.
 
I had been feeling the pull for quite some time to do more from Him and His glory while
impacting the youth and those around me. On 8/7/2021, with the support of my husband, it was the first time I left my job and didn’t know the next step – only trusting in the leading of the Holy Spirit. My heart was breaking for the youth and all going on against them. During that time with the Lord, Cornerstones, as known as today, was born!! 
 
My direction no longer involved healthcare and its restrictions yet was taking a whole new
“David-type” adventure to impact peers and the youth taking up my painted Scripture stones (cornerstones) and taking on the Goliaths of the world with His Word – one stone at a time. 
 
Since my business launch in Fall of 2021, the Lord has improved my artistic abilities with logo stones, hydro-dipping, and so much more, and downloaded workshop ideas involving the use of painting on stones to hear from the Lord.   Then in the Summer of 2022, the leading of His voice led my family and me to move back to Nebraska, my home state, that I have been away from for 25 years. The move to Nebraska also provided space on our property to open a small art studio. This season pursuing the Lord Jesus Christ is full of personal growth, joy, and a love of fully trusting in Him for direction, protection, and guidance. That one ‘yes’ to Him telling me to leave the ‘pools of Bethsaida’ and “lay down the familiar’ is taking me on an adventure beyond my wildest dreams.

What is the Lord calling you to do?  Could you also be called to focus on what
makes you represent Him well? It is never too late to dream with your Creator!

I love the Lord and how He designs us – each of us!! For over 20 years of following Jesus, I have also fallen in love with His Word and His voice – always loving, guiding, and directing my steps. Now He has combined these loves into a business with art and workshops guiding others to do the same. The Bible shows us how hearing His voice (through His Word and Spirit) and following those instructions are essential to be His disciples. (John 10:27, Psalm 119:105, 2 Timothy 3:16)

How will we know and flee from lies if we never know or pursue truth? The god of this world (2 Corinthians 4:4) and deception are all around us (1 John 4:1).  Yet there is no ‘junior Holy Spirit’ (1 John 4:4) – these truths are for young children too. As a mother of 2, I am passionate to make Jesus – the One of the Bible – famous and be known as the closest friend to children and those around us. He is worthy!!

One main common theme exposed since 2020 is this world is growing darker and darker; yet Jesus and His army are rising up – equipped with His armor (Ephesians 6:10-20), His love (1 John 4:19), His truth (John 17:17), and His power (1 Corinthians 2:4) to advance His Kingdom. I am just answering the call to my life to use my Cornerstones business as a platform for His glory. I would also love the opportunity to use my stones of declarations and workshops hearing His voice to empower and encourage YOU in all He has designed you to be!!!
